Alexander Demetz, photographer and web designer from Val Gardena.
I was born in Val Gardena in 1994 and grew up here, between Sassolungo and Seceda. Today I photograph weddings in the Dolomites, create imagery for hotels and brands and build websites for businesses in South Tyrol.
After a secondary school for graphic design and communication, I started early on to create for people and businesses. First it was websites, then more and more pictures. Today I do both, often for the same clients. Curiosity turned into a profession, and the profession into a conviction: I want to make pictures that still ring true in twenty years.
Before photography, I competed in athletics for the Italian national team. From there I took what helps me at every wedding and every shoot today: calm under pressure, thorough preparation and the ability to be precise in the decisive moment.
I have known the mountains where my couples marry and my clients welcome their guests since childhood. That knowledge goes into every picture, from the choice of place to the time of day and the light.
